Annually, thousands of aspirants prepare intensely for limited spots. To start your journey, you must complete the application process. Here’s a thorough guide to help you apply seamlessly.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To start your application process, visit the Bangladesh Public Service Commission website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the primary portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Be careful from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Navigate to the latest BCS exam circular under the “Circulars”. The circular shares necessary information, such as qualifications needed, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other notable instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Carefully read the requirements, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The usual age limit is within the range of 21–30 years for general candidates, but relaxations apply for specific groups such as freedom fighters’ heirs or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the BCS Online Application Form (Form 1). Complete all compulsory fields, such as personal details, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Cross-check for any discrepancies. Providing inaccurate information can lead to dismissal.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a latest copyright-sized photograph (dimension of 300x300 pixels, file size below 100KB) and your signature (300x80 pixels, file size below 60kB). Make sure these comply with the requirements mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After completing the form submission, you will be provided with a User ID. Use this ID to process the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT seven hundred for general candidates and Tk. 100 for others. Follow the SMS format provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will obtain a confirmation SMS with a payment reference ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Go back to the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Send your application well before the deadline to steer clear of last-minute technical issues.

Print a copy of the final application form for future use, such as for downloading the admit card.

By completing these steps, you can successfully apply for the BCS exam and progress towards your ambition in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Good luck!
